This week, CDA’s Executive Director María José Espinosa spoke alongside key regional leaders, international organizations, members of Congress, and civil society at the Summit of the Americas side event “Towards Regional Governance on Migration and Forced Displacement in the Americas.” Watch María José’s remarks here.

U.S.-Cuba News Brief: 06/03/2022

CDA is excited to announce that María José Espinosa, previously CDA’s Deputy Director, was named Executive Director effective June 1, 2022. María brings more than twelve years of experience analyzing and developing policy and seeking ways to strengthen ties among the people and the countries of the Americas, including six years at CDA.

JOIN US! Next week, CDA and other civil society organizations will host a panel discussion in-person in Los Angeles and virtually, on best practices in regional protection and integration mechanisms during the Summit of the Americas. The event on Tuesday, June 7 from 5 – 6:30 PM PDT will provide recommendations on the steps that governments should take towards regional arrangements that prioritize protection for migrants and refugees. Simultaneous translation will be provided. Register to listen in Spanish or English, virtually or in-person here.
