This week, the Biden-Harris administration announced that it would reverse some sanctions on Cuba and restore some areas of engagement. CDA encourages the Administration to utilize creative and active diplomacy in partnership with marginalized communities and civil society to deliver robust support for human rights, Cuba’s growing private sector, and Cuban American families. U.S.-Cuba News Brief: 05/02/2022

Dear Friends,

Yesterday, Cuba reported 155 COVID-19 cases. There are currently 822 total active cases of COVID-19 on the island. The total number of cases since March of 2020 is 1,103,286 and the total number of deaths since March of 2020 is 8,527. Approximately 89.8 percent of the population is fully vaccinated (not including the booster). For a graph of case numbers since March 2020, see here.
